On April 5th, Danny posted an Instagram Story showcasing an instrumental while praising the work of a plugin called Archetype: Cory Wong. According to Neural DSP’s website, the plugin was designed to provide perfect clean and edge-of-breakup tones. Danny sounds really excited about how the instrumental turned out.
A few weeks later, on April 23rd, Danny showcased the continuation of his work on the song, with a more finished version of the synth-wavy instrumental featuring Daniel’s airy vocals singing «I tried». The caption also gives us an insight that Fudd Rukus, Danny’s childhood friend and longtime collaborator, was somehow involved.
Danny’s solo project first appeared on our horizon in November 2021 with the release of his debut solo single Treading Water. Although it was announced that it was the first song from the upcoming Stir Crazy EP, the EP has not yet been released.
In 2022 the solo stuff was obviously put on hold while the next Hollywood Undead album cycle was in full throttle. The next solo track Move On was supposed to be released on October 21st, but for unknown reasons it was canceled. Everything changed in 2023. In August it was announced that the song Move On, re-titled Too Long, would finally be released on August 11th. The following month, Danny posted a clip of the studio recording of The Outfield cover, with the full song being released on September 21st.
The most recent single to date is Better Than Yesterday, which was surprisingly released on Danny’s birthday.
