The Hollywood Undead Universe continues to expand with J-Dog officially announcing a new side project earlier this week.

Entitled 33TWO – the group is formed by the duo of HU’s own J-Dog and longstanding friend & collaborator of the band, Fudd Rukus.

In the group’s IG announcement J-Dog shared the following-
I’ve written and recorded/produced so many songs outside of my band. I’ve never done anything with them…
For the first time I’m gonna release some music outside of my band. Covid sucked and was weird for the whole world, but for a minute it felt like when my band first started, recording in a bedroom, no responsibilities, making music just for fun with no end goal in sight. This project I’m doing with a close friend and one of my favorite music artists @fuddrukus. We had another one of my favorite visual artists Goran Gligović do our art concepts. The story behind why we wrote this song is a wild and funny one, I’ll tell it another time…

Fudd Rukus is likely a familiar name to many Undead superfans, initially known for being a friend of Danny’s – he has contributed to multiple HU albums as a co-writer over the years. Some of his more recent contributions for HU were during the Nashville sessions for Hotel Kalifornia, including songs like “Lion Eyes” and “Break on Through”, as well as featuring in several Danny Rose singles like “For What Its Worth” and “Too Long”.

Technically, this isn’t Jorel’s first side project outside of HU either. He was also part of the short-lived remix group Dead Planets along with Killtron and Funny Man (which was referenced in the Notes From the Underground booklet artwork). Over the years, J-Dog has also featured in a series of one-off releases over the years – including 2017’s collaboration with Nick Holiday, 2018’s feature with Loki and Gwen Pain “Chicken Coop”, and the ultimately unreleased “Countdown” feature with Monsta Squad.

J-Dog has been teasing musical work outside of HU for over half a decade now, sharing various clips on social media intermittently over the years. While it remains to be seen what genres and sounds 33TWO will be playing with, we’re happy to see some of these efforts finally come to fruition with a formal release!
