As promised a few days ago, have dropped With the second 33TWO (the side project for J-Dog and Fudd Rukus) track, “They Don’t Know”, dropping earlier this week – J-Dog took some time to share some background on the track on Instagram for fans. We had previously covered that the track could originally be heard in some IG Stories shared all the way back in 2021, finally hitting everyone’s speakers nearly a half decade later.
In a reflective post complete with full-length slide/clip show set to the whole track, J-Dog discusses how the track was born out of the social lockdowns of the time – with the full video acting like a pandemic-era time capsule including BTS pics and videos of J and Fudd working on 33TWO music, Hollywood Undead’s livestream filming sessions, various spicey Dove & Grenade incidents both good and bad, meeting his now wife, and more from his social life at the time. Some back story to my other music:
When covid lockdowns first happened, the band was on tour in Europe with Papa Roach and everyone got sent home as the world shut down. When covid was in full effect, we were stuck in LA with everything closed, and stuck inside. So we kept doing what we always did, grow w33d and make music. Everything had to be in secret cause of lockdown, and people would call the cops on “get togethers”.
We had secret parties, secret recording sessions, had to gather to work in secret. We recorded a lot of this music in a room full of people, and usually in the middle of the night so people wouldnt call the cops. The price of w33d surged during Covid so everybody hit the ground running.
We had a grow burn down (it was on the news) and law enforcement looking for us, were traveling between states constantly, met the mother of my child and future wife, wrote a bunch of music. To be honest, I didnt know how insane it all was until I look back at these memories. So these songs are “old” by today’s standards, The music we made during that time is a reflection of how we were living. I’ve always been private about my personal life and even now I’m hesitant to share these memories.
