Avid fans may recall that back in 2014 Hollywood Undead teased that they would be filming a live music video for their latest single, “Day of the Dead”, during their Brixton Academy show in London on November 29th of that year. Since then…nothing? The band’s fourth album came and went several months later, with a traditional scripted music video for the title track dropping in March of 2015, but without a trace of live footage from the London show. So what happened to that live video?
Turns out the video, or at least a cut of it has made its way into the portfolio for the director, James Barnes, on his personal website jamesbarnes.co.
Additional staff involved on the video include Gareth Beeson as the camera supervisor and Anthony Bairstow on editing. It looks like the video was originally intended for Vevo, and requested by the band’s label at the time, Interscope. The idea for a live video never really goes away though, fans may remember the Renegade – Live from Moscow video that was uploaded earlier this year.
